Paragliding adventure in Zell am See-Kaprun
Tandem paragliding near the High alpine reservoirs Kaprun in the Zell am See-Kaprun region is a highlight – that’s for sure. The two reservoirs named Mooserboden and Wasserfallboden look like fjords. You could think that you are in Norway right now. Sepp, your pilot, likes to fly over the two reservoirs, because from above you can really see how impressive the reservoirs are.
From the Schmittenhöhe to the reservoirs
We always start at the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See. It is the ideal starting point for a tandem flight to the Kaprun reservoirs. An important prerequisite is of course the thermals on the day of the flight. We need strong thermals for paragliding over the reservoirs. Not every day is suitable for a thermal flight. The best time is between April and August.
The imposing dam from above
You look at the dam from a bird’s eye view! Only a few adventurous get to see this sight. Most vacationers hike to the reservoirs, but you can fly directly over the attraction with us. The dam is 107 meters high and 500 meters long. You can even climb on the dam wall.
Adventure World Electricity & Ice
The dam wall can also be visited from the inside. If you still feel like it after paragliding, we recommend you to visit the World of Electricity & Ice. It is located at Mooserboden and provides information about the functions of the hydroelectric power plant.
By bus and inclined lift to the reservoirs
If you want to visit the reservoirs, you can park for free at the Kesselfall car park in Kaprun. There you can buy the tickets for the ascent. You then take a bus and take the inclined elevator up. But there is also the possibility to view the attraction from above during a powered flight. In the video we show you the great view.
